1. If you are having I.V. sedation nothing to eat or drink (including water) for 6 hours prior to procedure.
2. If you take any medications daily (i.e. insulin, blood pressure pills, etc), continue to take them as directed unless otherwise instructions by the doctors. You may take your medications with a SMALL SIP of water.
3. A responsible adult must accompany the patient to the office, remain in the office during the procedure and be able to drive the patient home. The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate machinery for twenty-four (24) hours following anesthesia.
4. Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing with a short-sleeved shirt. Please remove contact lenses and earrings.
5. If you note any changes in your health, especially the development of a cold of fever within 2 days prior to your surgery, please contact the office.
6. You may be given a prescription for Peridex/Periogard antibacterial mouth rinse. The rinse can cause staining of oral surfaces such as teeth and tongue. The changes of this will be markedly reduced with good oral hygiene and is not common with short-term use. Stain can be removed from most tooth surfaced with conventional hygiene techniques. Start the antibacterial mouth rinse (2) days prior to your surgery. This is an antibacterial mouth rinse and will help prevent infection and promote healing.
